The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation wanted women to make an informed decision about the benefits and limitations of regular mammogram screening.
The client had extensive data, and a deep understanding of the complex reasons why women opt into or out of screening programs. However, they wanted to simplify the language and statistics, debunk myths and given the 20 year timeline of recommended screening, encourage women to reflect on their choices.
Numerous multidisciplinary workshops with the client helped distill huge amounts of data, understand some of the barriers, order content and establish a flow to the experience. This decision aid ultimately helped support and educate Canadian women in making an informed, personal choice about breast cancer screening.
